Why “Thriving Warriors”
During this journey of discovering what my new reality was going to shape into, I needed to determine if I was going to wear armor, so to speak, and what it would look like. Knowing what I know about myself, I listened to my Angel and decided very early on that I wanted to thrive in life again someday. I was NO WHERE NEAR thriving when I made this decision, but I just trusted that I still had it in me so the first thing I did was determine what it meant “to thrive” after such a tragic and sudden loss.
In doing so, I created three categories of “warriors”; the Crusader, the Surviving and the Thriving Warriors. I knew I would need to start at the surviving warrior level and set the intention of making my way to that Thriving Warrior goal. I often go back and forth from thriving and surviving and I believe that is to be expected for a significant period of time. I followed the steps and process I documented in the book, “The Voice of an Angel”, for others that are unfortunately navigating a similar path in their lives. An excerpt from the book…
…”Then came her sharing an answer to one of the questions I have been asking myself since that fateful day, “what do I do now”? Sydney proceeded to explain what I was to be doing now with all of this newfound experience and wisdom. “Momma, help people. It’s what you do. There are and will be people, specifically mothers, that will be grieving the loss of their babies and won’t have anywhere “healthy” to turn. The ones that are drawn to what you write are “difference makers” like you and whether they realize it or not yet, they too, will do things with their lives to be extra-ordinary, in their own way. Be vulnerable and show them what is possible. Show them what it is to love, momma.” Well, now how do you say no to a message like that being delivered in a dream by your daughter who is now an Angel watching over you and guiding your every day?…
